      Frequently asked questions

      Is cropping permanent?

      No. Cropping is non-destructive: it changes which part of the page is visible, and the content outside the frame stays in the file. If you need content gone for good, use censoring instead.

      Can I hide sensitive information by cropping it away?

      No, and please don't try. Cropped-away content is still inside the PDF and can be restored. Use the censor tool instead — it removes hidden content permanently.

      Does cropping reduce quality?

      No. The page is not re-rendered. Text stays selectable and images keep their resolution; only the visible area changes.

      How long do you store my file?

      Two hours at most, then it is deleted automatically. Press Delete now to remove it sooner. Uploads are encrypted with TLS, and no file is ever used for AI training.

      Can I crop and merge in the same session?

      Yes. Cropping happens in the same editor as merging, reordering, rotating, and censoring, so one export covers everything.
